MANCHESTER, N.H. - Laura Ostrout's goal 1:30 into
the second half lifted Saint Michael's College to a 1-0
Northeast-10 women's soccer victory over Southern New Hampshire
University at Larkin Field Tuesday night. The Purple Knights
improved to 3-8-1 overall and 2-6-1 in the NE-10, while the Penmen
are now 3-8-3 and 1-6-3 in the league.
Ostrout scored when she got past the Penmen defense and fired a
shot from 12 yards out that got over the head of SNHU keeper
Stef Young (Natick, Mass.). The goal was an
unassisted tally.
Saint Michael's goalie Ashleigh Adams turned aside four shots en
route to the shutout win, while Young turned aside five
shots. The Purple Knights outshot the Penmen 9-7 on the
evening.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it
travels to Adelphi for a 6:00 game.
