HOOKSETT, N.H. - Five different players tallied
goals for the Penmen as Southern New Hampshire topped Framingham
State 7-2 at the Ice Den on Saturday night. With the win, the
Penmen improve to 2-1-1 and the Rams fall to 0-1-1.
Southern New Hampshire scored three goals in the first, two
goals in the second, and two more in the third period. At
3:21 in the first period, Brandon Bradley
(Wichita, Kansas) was allowed a penalty shot after a Rams delay of
game penalty. Bradley was able to deke the Rams goaltender to
score the first goal of the game for the Penmen. Ryan
DiBartolomeo (Leominster, Mass.) scored soon after Bradley
at 3:58, with assists on the goal going to John
Frey (Westminster, Colo.) and Matt Farley
(Halifax, Mass.). Anthony Dercole (Hamden,
Conn.) also scored an unassisted power-play goal at 16:40 in the
first.
Bradley opened up the second period with his second goal of the
game, scoring :38 seconds into the period off a feed from
Troy Maybury (South Portland, Maine). The
Penmen power play was also active in the second period, as Frey
would follow up with another unassisted power play goal at 13:57 in
the second period.
Southern New Hampshire scored two goals in the third period,
both of them from Troy Maybury, as he scored at 3:24 and 5:58.
Andrew Hildreth (Leominster, Mass.) assisted
on both goals, and Brandon Bradley also tallied a helper on
Maybury's first goal of the game.
John Sheehan and Anthony Woodward would provide the only scoring
punch for the Rams, with Sheehan scoring at 10:25 in the second
period with assists from Aran Ward and Joseph Hurley.
Woodward's tally was assisted by Nicholas Jackson at 4:57 in the
third period.
Shane Brooks (Kennebunk, Maine) made 23 saves
in goal for SNHU to earn the victory. Rams goaltender Terence
Sullivan stopped 32 shots for the Rams, who were outshot by the
Penmen 39 to 25.
Southern New Hampshire will travel to Rindge, N.H. where they
will play Franklin Pierce in a 7:00 game. The Penmen then
return home to play Assumption on November 21 at the Ice Den in a
7:00 tilt.
