HOOKSETT, N.H. -
Pete Roundy totaled two goals and two assists to lead Stonehill
College to a 6-0 win over Southern New Hampshire University in the
consolation game of the PAL/Stovepipe college hockey tournament at
The Ice Den Sunday afternoon. The Skyhawks improve to 3-6-1
overall, while the Penmen fall to 2-4-2.
Stonehill scored three times in the
first period. Roundy opened the scoring with a power play
tally at the 4:30 mark, while Mario Ranalli made it 2-0 3:11
later. Bill Harris made it 3-0 for the Skyhawks at the 13:01
mark of the first.
Zachary Cantin made it a 4-0 game
at the 13:51 mark of the second period on a power play goal, while
Angelo Todesca scored Stonehill's fifth goal 2:02 before the second
intermission. Roundy closed out the scoring with a power play
score at the 12:34 mark of the third stanza.
Tyler Jackson made 27 saves for
Stonehill en route to the shutout while Ryan
Gleason (Westford, Mass.) made 28 saves for SNHU as the
Skyhawks outshot the Penmen 34-27. Stonehill was 3-10 on the
power play while the Penmen were 0-6 with the man advantage.
SNHU returns to action Wednesday
night when it hosts Plymouth State University in a 7:30 game at The
Ice Den.
