Demoner registered a hat trick for Franklin Pierce University as
the Ravens recorded a 5-0 shutout win over Southern New Hampshire
University Tuesday afternoon at Sodexo Field. The win
improves the Ravens to 2-1-0 in the Northeast-10 and 4-2-0 overall,
while the loss drops the Penmen to 1-1-1 in NE-10 play and 2-2-1
overall.
Demoner got the Ravens on the board 26 minutes into the game
after she deflected two defenders and beat SNHU keeper Stef
Young (Natick, Mass.) with a low shot. Franklin
Pierce would add another goal 15 minutes into the second half on a
goal from Angelika Johansson. Demoner would waste no time
increasing the Ravens' lead as she connected on a pass from
Courtney Weber less than three minutes later. She would
complete her hat trick with 22:01 remaining in the second half on a
feed from Johansson. Kelly Sisco would also score for the
Ravens, adding a goal with 36 seconds left in regulation.
Jocelyn Leon recorded the shutout for FPU, registering four
saves. Young made ten saves for SNHU as the Ravens outshot
the Penmen 22-8.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Friday, September 11
as they travel to play Tusculum College at the Little Feet
Invitational Tournament in Milledgeville, Ga.
