COLCHESTER, Vt.—Kaleigh
Roberge (Manchester, N.H.) tallied her fifth goal of
the season to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's
soccer team to a 1-0 win against Saint Michael's College on
Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Penmen improve to
6-6-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the
loss drops the Purple Knights to 5-7-2 overall and 4-6-2 in NE-10
play.
Roberge was left unmarked inside the box to tally the
game-winning goal in the 46th minute. Ariel
Teixeira (Warren, R.I.) and Danielle Courtemanche (Glastonbury,
Conn.) assisted on the goal.
Southern New Hampshire goalkeeper Maggie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.)
recorded three saves en route to the shutout. Brittany
Cocozza stopped nine shots in net for Saint Michael's as the Penmen
outshot the Purple Knights 16-7 on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire returns action on Saturday, hosting Le
Moyne College at 4:00 p.m. on Larkin Field.
