ASHBURN, Mass.—Six different players scored to lead the Western New England College Golden Bears to a 7-0 win against the Southern New Hampshire University ice hockey team in the championship game of the Pepperidge Farm Invitational tournament on Saturday evening. With the loss, the Penmen fall to 1-2 overall, while the win improves the Golden Bears to 2-0-1.
John Lineberry would strike first at the 1:01 mark for the Golden Bears, who also saw goals from Chris Connors, Brian Prost, Kory Grahl, Trent Krueger, and Mike Kaselouskas and an additional goal from Lineberry. Western New England tallied three goals in the first period and two goals in the second and third stanzas.
Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.), who was named to the All-Tournament team alongside teammate Connor Audycki (Bellevue, Wash.), took the loss in net for the Penmen while recording 36 saves. Eric Sorenson earned the shutout for the Golden Bears, stopping 26 shots.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Saturday, November 20, traveling to Assumption College for a 6:35 p.m. Northeast-10 Conference matchup.
