The two teams would remain scoreless for most of the first period until Brendan McCarron opened scoring for the Ravens with 2:17 remaining in the opening frame. Franklin Pierce would open up the second period with three more goals from Tyler Cornele, Roscoe Sweeney, and Nate Schursky to take the 4-0 advantage.
Chris Hickey (Gilford, N.H.) would tally the first Penmen goal with 2:53 remaining in the second period on assists from Frank O'Connor (Arlington, Mass.) and Tautvydas Shalna (Williston, Vt.).
Tom Mills and Bryan Colella added two more goals for the Ravens in the third period before Trevor Nelson (Exeter, N.H.) rounded out scoring for the Penmen with 4:32 remaining in the game. Troy Maybury (South Portland, Maine) and William Toomey (Reading, Mass.) assisted on the goal.
Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.) took the loss between the pipes for Southern New Hampshire and recorded 29 saves. Dave O'Brien earned the win in net for Franklin Pierce, stopping 38 shots en route to the win as the Penmen outshot the Ravens 40-35.
