HOOKSETT, N.H. -
Brandon Bradley (Wichita, Kansas) recorded a hat
trick and Southern New Hampshire University scored six times in the
second period en route to an 8-3 Northeast-10 hockey win over
Stonehill College at The Ice Den Saturday night. The Penmen
improve to 4-13-3 overall and 2-5-2 in the NE-10, while the
Skyhawks are 8-12-1 and 1-6 in the league.
Andrew Hildreth
(Leominster, Mass.) handed out four assists for the Penmen, who
also got a goal and two assists apiece from Kent
Honeyman (Marietta, Ga.) and Bobby Bryant
(Nashua, N.H.). John Frey (Westminster,
Colo.) and Ryan DiBartolomeo (Leominster, Mass.)
each chipped in with a goal and an assist, while Doug
Boulanger (Beauport, Quebec) had the other Penmen tally.
Sean McNeil, Pete Roundy and
Christopher Gorovitz had a goal apiece for Stonehill.
The Penmen broke a 1-1 tie with six
goals in the first 9:46 of the second period. Boulanger would
score 1:23 into the frame, then Bradley notched back-to-back goals
at 4:39 and 6:50. Honeyman made it 5-1 17 seconds later,
while DiBartolomeo scored at 7:44 to give the Penmen three goals in
a 54-second span. Frey would add a shorthanded goal at the
9:46 mark to make it 7-1.
Bryant opened the scoring for
Southern New Hampshire with a power play goal 2:30 into the
contest. Pete Roundy tied the game for Stonehill with 4:19
remaining in the first period.
Bradley would complete his hat
trick with 1:30 remaining in the third period.
Mike Mastracci
(Pittsburgh, Pa.) made 30 saves in goal for Southern New Hampshire,
while Tyler Jackson made 31 stops for Stonehill as the Penmen
outshot the Skyhawks 39-33.
The Penmen and Skyhawks close out
their three-game Northeast-10 season series Tuesday night in
Foxboro, Mass.
