WINCHENDON, Mass.
- Host Franklin Pierce University scored the game's first
five goals en route to a 6-2 win over Southern New Hampshire
University in Northeast-10 ice hockey Saturday night at The
Winchendon School. The Ravens improved to 6-13-2 and 3-5-1 in
the NE-10, while the Penmen are 3-12-3 and 1-4-2 in the league.
Anthony Chighisola led FPU with two
goals and two assists, while Roscoe Sweeney totaled a goal and
three assists. Anthony Dercole (Hamden,
Conn.) led the Penmen with a goal and an assist, while
William Toomey (Reading, Mass.) had the other SNHU
goal.
The Ravens led 2-0 after one period
and scored the first three goals of the second period to take a 5-0
lead.
Ben Siok made 34 saves to earn the
win for Franklin Pierce in goal, while Mike
Mastracci (Pittsburgh, Pa.) made 16 saves over two periods
for the Penmen. John Carbonneau (Medford,
Mass.) made three saves in the third period. The Penmen
outshot the Ravens 36-25.
SNHU travels to Saint Anselm for a
7:00 contest Tuesday evening.
