MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team edged Saint Michael's College 5-4 Thursday afternoon at the SNHU courts.  The Penmen improved to 2-10 overall and 2-8 in the NE-10 with the victory, while the Purple Knights are 3-6 overall and in the league.

The Penmen trailed 2-1 after doubles play but prevailed in four of the six singles matches.  Jared Wright (Norwell, Mass.) and MingYang Chuo each rallied to capture singles wins after dropping the first set.  Wright was a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 1 singles, while Chuo was a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 4.  Tim Hamilton (Hampton, N.H.) and John Niland (Cheshire, Conn.) were winners at No.2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. 

Brendan Hussey (Barnstead, N.H.) and Cory Lefort (Cumberland, R.I. ) were 8-6 winners at No. 3 doubles for the Penmen.

The SNHU men's tennis team closes out its season Saturday when it faces Franklin Pierce.  Due to expected inclement weather, that match, along with the women's match against the Ravens, have been moved to the Goffstown (N.H.) YMCA starting at 2:00.
