MANCHESTER, N.H. – Merrimack College edged Southern New Hampshire University 5-4 in a Northeast-10 men's tennis match Saturday afternoon. The Warriors improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in NE-10 play, while the Penmen are 1-1 overall and in the league.
Freshman Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) posted victories at both No. 1 singles and doubles. He defeated MC's Rishi Rajpal 6-1, 6-3 in singles action and teamed with Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) for an 8-2 win over Rajpal and Max Eppley.
In singles action, Mitchell Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at No. 2 and John Niland (Cheshire Conn.) was victorious 6-4, 1-6, 10-8 at No. 5. Niland rallied from an 8-1 deficit in the tiebreaker.
Southern New Hampshire hosts Stonehill Sunday at 1:00 pm.
