MANCHESTER, N.H. – Tim Hamilton (Hampton,
N.H.) broke a 4-4 tie with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles to give
Southern New Hampshire University a 5-4 victory over Stonehill
College in Northeast-10 men's tennis Sunday afternoon.
The Penmen, who recorded their first-ever win over the Skyhawks in
13 tries, are now 2-1 overall and in the league. Stonehill is
2-1 and 1-1 in the league.
In addition to its win at No. 6,
SNHU swept the top three singles flights. Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) was a 6-2, 7-5
winner at No. 1 over Tim Fayed. Mitchell Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 2
while Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) was a
6-0, 6-2 winner at No. 3. Arango-Campo and Mukdaprakorn also
teamed up for a 8-2 victory at first doubles.
Southern New Hampshire wraps up its
fall schedule October 11 when it travels to Franklin Pierce for an
11:00 am match.
