MANCHESTER, N.H.—Bethi Ledoux (Westborough, Mass.) tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference win against the Greyhounds of Assumption College on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Penmen improve to 9-6-1 overall and 7-5-1 in NE-10 play, while the loss drops the Greyhounds to 3-11-1 overall and 1-11-1 in league play.
Ledoux notched her fourth goal of the season in the 22nd minute after collecting a long cross from Ariel Teixeira (Warren, R.I.), dribbling to the left of the box around the marking defender, and firing the hard shot to the right post.
In the 45th minute, Ledoux would feed a long through-ball from midfield to Kaleigh Roberge (Manchester, N.H.) who collected the ball, took two long dribbles to beat the defender, and placed her shot in the low near corner to put the Penmen up 2-0 entering halftime.
Penmen goalkeeper Maggie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) posted three saves in net for the Penmen as Assumption's Erin Kinback, Katie Lydon, and Amanda Sarro each tallied a shot on goal.
Assumption goalkeeper Allison Bruder recorded the start and did not record a save in the first half. Rachel Edgin played the second half in net for the Greyhounds and tallied six saves. The Penmen outshout the Greyhounds 21-5 on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to face Bentley University at 3:30 p.m.
