Women's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire University and American International College played to a 1-1 Northeast-10 women's soccer tie Tuesday evening at Abdow Field.  The Penmen are now 5-5-1 and 3-4-1 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets are 2-8-1 and 2-6-1 in the league.

After a scoreless first half, the Penmen took a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute when Bethi Ledoux (Westborough, Mass.) scored on a feed from Ariel Teixeira (Warren, R.I.).  The Yellow Jackets tied the game with 6:40 remaining in regulation when Nikki Muhlberg scored, with Devan Boundy and Angie Rassias recording assists on the play.

Samantha Whittier (Sutton, Mass.) went the distance in goal for Southern New Hampshire and recorded five saves, while AIC keeper Amber Swanston turned aside nine shots.  The Penmen outshot the Yellow Jackets 24-14 on the evening.

Southern New Hampshire wraps up a four-game road swing on Saturday when it travels to Adelphi for a 7:00 Northeast-10 contest.
