SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt.—Nick Sheehan recorded a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Saint Michael's College men's hockey team to a 9-2 win over the visiting Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday afternoon.  With the loss, the Penmen fall to 4-12-2 overall and 2-4-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action, while the win boosts the Purple Knights to 4-0-0 in league play. 

Saint Michael's would strike 1:49 into the game to take the early lead, which they would never relinquish as the score at the end of the first period was 4-1 in favor of the Purple Knights. Saint Michael's goals were scored by Colby MacDonald, Brady Earle, and two from Sheehan. The Penmen would see a first period goal by Adam Ziegler (Medford, Mass.) at the 12:13 mark to put Southern New Hampshire on the board.  Tyler Pascucci (North Reading, Mass.) and Neil Adams (Gardner, Mass.) assisted on the goal.

The Purple Knights would open the second frame with three-straight goals from Rich Rodeschini, Tully LaBelle-Hamer and Sam Torney before Doug Boulanger (Beauport, Quebec) would tally SNHU's second goal of the day with 3:04 left to play in the period.  Troy Maybury (South Portland, Maine) recorded the assist.

Up 7-2, the Purple Knights would tack on two more goals in the third period from Justin Castagna and Sheehan to round out scoring for the afternoon.

Ryan Gleason (Westford, Mass.) took the loss in net for the Penmen, recording 18 saves in 29:21 minutes of work before giving way to Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.) who posted 29 saves.  Mike Dizgun earned the win for the Purple Knights and tallied 20 saves as Saint Michael's outshot Southern New Hampshire 56-22 on the afternoon. 

Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Saturday, hosting Franklin Pierce University at 4:30 p.m. in Northeast-10 Conference action.
