HOOKSETT, N.H.—Roscoe Sweeney scored twice and added an assist to lead the visiting Franklin Pierce University men's ice hockey team to a 6-1 win over the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday evening.  With the win, the Ravens improve to 5-16-0 overall and 4-2-0 in NE-10 play, while the loss drops the Penmen to 4-13-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the league.

The Ravens would take the 1-0 advantage with 4:27 remaining in the first period on a power play, as Sweeney passed the puck from behind the net to Tyler Cornele, who fired the shot from his position within the right faceoff circle.

Franklin Pierce would score back-to-back goals at the 4:31 and 9:51 marks of the second period to give the Ravens the 3-0 advantage.  Pat Shortt would tally his sixth goal of the season on an assist by Justin Adams before Sweeney tallied his first goal of the game on the power play, assisted by Colella and Brendan McCarron.

Down 3-0, Chris Hickey (Milford, N.H.) would collect the puck at mid-ice for the Penmen and carry it to the goal to record his sixth goal of the season.  The Ravens would carry the 3-1 advantage into the third period.

Sweeney scored his second goal of the game and 11th of the season 5:45 into the final frame on assists by Michael Carr and Bill Sullivan.  Carr would add a goal of his own at the 13:32 mark. The shorthanded goal, which reflected off the glass and past Penmen goaltender Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.), marked the first of the season for the Ravens' sophomore forward.  With 3:32 remaining in the game, Cornele tallied his second goal of the game on assists by McCarron and Bill Sullivan to solidify the 6-1 win.

Dave O'Brien earned the win in net for the Ravens and turned away 35 shots.  Holske took the loss for the Penmen and tallied 36 saves as the Ravens outshot the Penmen 42-36 on the evening.  The Ravens rounded out the game 3-for-9 on the power play, while the Penmen were 0-for-3 with the man-advantage.
