HOOKSETT, N.H.—Ryan Butler tallied a hat trick to lead the visiting Saint Anselm College men's ice hockey team to a 6-1 win against the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday night.  With the win, the Hawks improve to 10-6-2 overall and 3-1-0 in NE-10 action, while the loss drops the Penmen to 4-14-2 overall and 2-6-1 in league action.

The Hawks would take an early lead 5:34 into the game as John Hyslip collected a rebound and carried it behind the net, where he found Mike Richard positioned just outside the crease.  Richard one-touched the puck past Penmen goaltender Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.) to give the Hawks the 1-0 advantage.

The Penmen would answer with 56 seconds remaining in the period as Tyler Pascucci (North Reading, Mass.) passed to Brandon Sheehan (Bedford, Mass.) who slipped the puck in past Saint Anselm goaltender Robert Kang to tie the game at 1-1 entering the first intermission.  Trevor Nelson (Exeter, N.H.) also recorded an assist on the goal.

Butler would tally back to back goals at the 5:07 and 7:25 marks in the second frame to give the Hawks a 3-1 advantage.  Coleman Noonan, Ryan Holley tallied assists on Butler's first goal, while Tucker Mullin and Nick Wheeler aided on the second.

With the two-goal advantage entering the third, the Hawks would see goals by Ryan Clark, Timothy King and Butler at the 6:33, 12:04 and 19:50 marks to solidify the 6-1 win for Saint Anselm.

Holske recorded 61 saves in the loss for the Penmen and stopped 92.4 percent of the shots he faced.  He now has 554 saves on the season, ranking him ninth on the all-time saves in a season leader board.

Kang earned the win for the Hawks and tallied 15 saves as Saint Anselm outshot Southern New Hampshire 67-16 on the evening.  The Hawks finished 2-for-3 on power play opportunities, while the Penmen were 0-for-1 with the extra man advantage.
