ORLANDO, Fla. – The seventh-ranked Florida Southern College men's tennis team recorded an 8-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire University Wednesday morning. The Mocs improved to 5-3 on the season, while the Penmen are now 4-4.
Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) picked up SNHU's point on the day, defeating Florida Southern's Brian deMontfort 6-7, 7-6 (11-9). Mitchell Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) took Ivan Marevic to three sets at No. 1 singles before falling 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
In doubles play, Arango-Campo and Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) were edged by Marevic and deMontfort 9-7. The SNHU tandem was up 7-6 and serving for game point before Marevic and deMontfort rallied.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Friday when it takes on Division I South Dakota State University.
