Box Score
MANCHESTER, N.H.—A goal by Emily Donahue (Bristol, R.I.) 6:39 into the game would be all the offense needed as the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team posted a 1-0 win over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference play on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Penmen improve to 4-3-0 overall and 2-2 in the NE-10, while the loss drops the setters to 2-6-0 overall and 1-4-0 in league play.
Donahue's goal, her second of the season, came as Kasey Morrison (Hampton, N.H.) fed the ball through the middle. Donahue dribbled around the last defender and fired to the lower left corner, just out of the reach of Pace goalkeeper Courtany Hagen.
Samantha Whittier (Sutton, Mass.) earned her first start in net this season and was only forced to make one save en route to her first career shutout. Hagen made six saves in net for the Setters as the Penmen outshot the Setters 18-2 on the day.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Saturday when it hosts UMass Lowell at 1:00 p.m. in Northeast-10 Conference action.
