Box Score
RINDGE, N.H.—A goal by Ashley Jaskula (Palmer, Mass.) in the 56th minute of the game would be all the offense needed as the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team posted a 1-0 Northeast-10 Conference win over the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday evening. With the win, the visiting Penmen improve to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the NE-10, while the loss drops the Ravens to 4-4 overall and 2-4 in league play.
After a scoreless first period, Jaskula would receive a no-look pass from Sunshine Yang (Saint Paul, Minn.), dribble left, and score the game-winning goal. The win marks just the second for the Penmen against the Ravens in the last 10 years.
Southern New Hampshire goalkeeper Samantha Whittier (Sutton, Mass.) made four saves en route to her second-straight shutout. Franklin Pierce goalkeeper Jocelyn Leon tallied three saves on the evening. The Penmen narrowly outshot the Ravens 10-9 on the day, including a 7-3 shot advantage in the second half.
The Penmen return to action on Saturday when they travel to face Merrimack College in Northeast-10 Conference action at 3:30 p.m.
