MANCHESTER, N.H. – A goal by Allie Fitzsimmons with 6:02 remaining in the first half lifted No. 15 American International College to a 1-0 Northeast-10 women's soccer victory over Southern New Hampshire University at Larkin Field Saturday afternoon.  The Yellow Jackets won their sixth in a row to improve to 11-2-2 overall and 10-1-2 in the NE-10, while the Penmen, who saw a seven-game unbeaten streak halted, are now 9-4-3 and 7-4-3 in the league.

Fitzsimmons tallied the game's lone goal when she lifted a shot from 20 yards out just outside the top left corner of the box.  Penmen keeper Maggie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) was able to get a hand on the strike, but it got past her for Fitzsimmons' fourth goal of the season.

American International keeper Samantha Tabak registered one save en route to her eighth shutout of the season.  Weldon played the first half in goal before being relieved by Samantha Whittier (Sutton, Mass.) at halftime.  Whitter notched a pair of saves.  The guests generated an 11-8 shot advantage.

Prior to the game, six seniors playing in their final regular season home contest were honored, Weldon, Daniela Abruzzese (Parsippany, N.J.), Alex Barba (Hudson, Mass.), Kasey Morrison (Hampton, N.H.), Kaleigh Roberge (Manchester, N.H.) and Jackie Squatrito (Pembroke, Mass.).  This year's seniors are the winningest senior class since 2000.

Southern New Hampshire faces its second straight nationally-ranked opponent Wednesday afternoon when it travels to No. 3 LIU-Post for a 3:00 contest.
