Box Score

HOOKSETT, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire ice hockey team was defeated by Nichols College Wednesday night by a score of 3-2. The Penmen are now 2-6-2, while the Bison are 7-4.

After a scoreless first period, the Penmen would jump out to an early 1-0 lead as Joe Collins (Mansfield, Mass.) scored his fourth goal of the season from Anthony Laperriere (Winchendon, Mass.) and Dane Caracino (Belmont, Mass.) at the 16:26 mark. But the Bison would answer when Barry O'Neil notched the equalizing goal from Daniel Bufis halfway through the period. Three minutes later, Ray Furr recorded his first goal of the season for Nichols to push the lead to 2-1 heading into the third period.

The Penmen would tie the game early in the third period when Casey Goll (Winthrop, Mass.) recorded his second score on the season to tie the game back up at 2-2. However, the Bison found the net once more when Joe Sposit scored the game winner with just 9:30 left to play.

Penmen goaltender, David Letarte (Salem, Mass.) stopped 42 shots, while Bison goalie Patrick Salkind saved 27.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Saturday, December 15 when it travels to Plymouth State University for a 2:00 p.m. non-conference game. The game will conclude play before the Holiday break for SNHU.
