DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – In a match that took nearly six and a half hours, No. 38 Palm Beach Atlantic edged Southern New Hampshire University 5-4 in men's tennis Friday night at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. The Sailfish earned their first victory of the season and are now 1-5, while the Penmen stand at 4-3 on the season.
Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at No. 2 singles for the Penmen, while Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at No. 3. In one of two matches singles tilts that went three sets, Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) rallied for a 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 win at fourth singles. In No. 5 singles, Jared Wright (Norwell, Mass.) fell 6-1, 6-7, 7-5 to PBA's Nick Hines.
Tim Hamilton (Hampton, N.H.) and John Niland (Cheshire, Conn.) picked up SNHU's lone doubles point, prevailing 8-6 at No. 3.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Monday when it faces Florida Southern College in a 4:00 match in Orlando.
