QUEENS VILLAGE, N.Y. – Southern New Hampshire University remained unbeaten in Northeast-10 men's tennis play with a 6-3 win over Adelphi University at Alley Pond Tennis Center Saturday. The Penmen, who have won 15 NE-10 regular season matches dating back to last season, improved to 7-6 overall and 6-0 in the league, while Adelphi suffered its first league setback and is now 5-7 overall and 5-1 in Northeast-10 action.
In singles action, Jared Wright (Norwell, Mass.) posted a three-set victory at No. 5, winning the first set 6-4 before Adrish Tewarie was a 6-1 victory in the second set. Wright posted a 10-7 win in the third set. Other singles winners were Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) at No. 2, Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) at No. 3 and Brad Malenich (Sharon, Mass.) at No. 6.
Arango-Campo and Mukdaprakorn were 8-6 winners at No. 1 doubles, while Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) posted an 8-5 triumph at No. 2.
