MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Southern New Hampshire men's tennis team earned its second win of the season Saturday morning when it blanked Le Moyne College 9-0. With the win, SNHU improves to 2-0 in conference play while Le Moyne is now 0-1.
No. 1 single Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) defeated Le Moyne number one single Shane Evans 6-1 and 6-0, while No. 2 Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) got the win over Dolphin's Daryl Johnson with set scores of 6-1 and 6-0. The number three single spot for the Penmen was consumed by Jared Wright (Norwell, Mass.) who defeated Alessandro Nieves in three sets with scores of 6-2, 0-6, and a tiebreaker set 10-6.
Southern New Hampshire's doubles would triumph over the Dolphins while Dobek and Wallace would take the first doubles match with a score of 8-3. Evan Eaton (Winchester, Mass.) and Wright took the second 8-3, and Tim Hamilton (Hampton, N.H.) and Brad Malenich (Sharon, Mass.) won the third 8-0.
The Penmen return to action on Tuesday, September 18 when they travel across town to Saint Anselm for a 3:30 p.m. Northeast-10 conference match.
