Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Lexxi Carroll (Plainville, Conn.) scored her second-straight game-winning goal as the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team edged Assumption College 1-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday night at Multi-Sport Stadium. The Penmen won their second straight to improve to 6-3-1 and 4-3-1 in the NE-10, while the Greyhounds are 2-5-2 and 2-3-2 in the league.
Carroll, who also had the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Stonehill Wednesday afternoon, scored at the 11:51 mark as she collected a ball in front and beat Assumption keeper Allison Bruder.
Samantha Whittier (Sutton, Mass.) made her first start of the season in goal for the Penmen and made three saves en route to the shutout, while Bruder had a pair of saves for the hosts. The Penmen generated a slight 6-5 shot advantage on the evening.
Southern New Hampshire returns home Tuesday night when it hosts Bentley University in a 7:00 contest at Larkin Field.
