Box Score So. BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Southern New Hampshire ice hockey team was defeated by a score of 7-4 to Becker College Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game at the DoubleTree Ice Hockey Classic hosted by Saint Michael's College. The Penmen are now 2-9-2, while Becker improves to 7-6.
Korby Anderson would record the first goal of the game when he scored on a power play just 49 seconds into the second period for Becker. The Penmen would answer when Jim Gabrione (Boca Raton, Fla.) scored his fourth goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. However, three consecutive Hawks' scores would push the lead to 4-1 to end the second period.
Anderson would score his second goal of the game to open up the third period and extend the Hawks' lead to 5-1. Just five minutes later, a power play goal from Steven Berry (Ashburn, Va.) would put the Penmen behind just three. However another Becker goal would extend the lead to four again, but back-to-back Penmen goals from Connor Audycki (Bellevue, Wash.) and Berry would make the score 6-4 with five minutes remaining in the period. Becker would notch one more goal at the 16:17 mark to close out the period and secure the win.
Penmen goalie Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.) recorded 23 saves in net, while Hawks' goalie Shaun Millerick saved 23 shots as well.
The Penmen return to action Tuesday, January 8 when they travel to Westfield State for a 7:35 p.m. non-conference game.
