Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire women's soccer team tied Assumption College in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday evening by a score of 1-1 under the lights at Larkin Field. The Penmen are now 4-4-2 overall, and 1-3-2 in league play, while the Greyhounds are 4-0-4, and 2-0-4 in the conference.
Gabby Cappello (Andover, Mass.) scored her third goal of the season to give the Penmen an early 1-0 lead in the 26th minute from Olivia Parsons (Plymouth, Mass.). The Penmen held off the Greyhounds for the remainder of the period, and took the one-goal advantage into halftime.
However, Assumption matched the tally just 30 seconds into the second frame when Emily Hill scored from Tayla Morais at the 58:29 mark to tie the game at one goal apiece.
Despite outshooting Assumption 13-5, the Penmen could not find an answer in the extra overtime periods.
Samantha Whittier (Sutton, Mass.) totaled three saves in the complete game, while Rachel Edgin saved six SNHU shots.
The Penmen return to action Tuesday, October 8, when they travel to Bentley for a 3:30 p.m. conference game.
