Women's Soccer Battles Bentley to 1-1 Draw

Box Score

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Ashley Jaskula (Palmer, Mass.) scored her fourth goal of the season as Southern New Hampshire University and Bentley University battled to a 1-1 double-overtime draw in Northeast-10 women's soccer Tuesday afternoon.  The Penmen now stand 4-4-3 overall and 1-3-3 in NE-10 play, while the Falcons are 2-6-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the league.

Jaskula gave the Penmen a 1-0 lead just over three minutes into the game as she dribbled into the box and fired a shot past Bentley keeper Nicole Derba.  The guests led 1-0 at halftime, but Bentley tied the game in the 75th minute as Patty McAllister notched her first goal of the season on a blast from 25 yards.

Derba made seven saves for Bentley while freshman Autumn Scanlon (Waltham, Mass.), making her collegiate debut, turned aside four shots for Southern New Hampshire as the Penmen outshot the Falcons 16-9.  Both teams attempted four corner kicks on the afternoon.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it travels to Le Moyne College for a noon contest.  The next Penmen home game is set for Wednesday, October 16 when SNHU hosts Saint Michael's College in a 6:00 contest at Larkin Field.
