MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire men's tennis team defeated Adelphi University by a score of 5-4 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon. The Penmen improve to 10-4 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play with a 4-0 record, while Adelphi is now 8-6 and 4-2 in the league.
The Penmen would take two out of three doubles matches and split in singles play to earn the win over the Panthers.
Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) would team up to earn the win at the No. 1 doubles spot over Andreas Hammar and Alan Chocron by a score of 8-3, while the second doubles would pull out an 8-1 win over the Panthers.
Dobek would also earn a point in singles action over Hammar by a score of 6-1, 6-3 in first singles. Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) would prevail at No. 2 singles by a score of 6-3, 6-3, and Wallace would earn the third Penmen point in singles action while defeating Sander Bremer by a score of 6-2, 6-0.
The Penmen return to action Wednesday, April 3 when they host Stonehill College for a 3:00 p.m. league match.
