Penmen Soar Past Skyhawks, 5-4

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire men's tennis team defeated Stonehill College by a score of 5-4 in Northeast-10 Conference action Friday afternoon at the Allard Center. With the win, the Penmen improve to 12-6 overall and 7-1 in the conference, while the Skyhawks are now 15-7 and 6-2 in league play.

After taking a 2-1 lead in doubles play, SNHU won the top three matches in singles in order to get the win in its last regular season home match.

Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) earned a point in No. 1 doubles with an 8-3 win, while Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) and Evan Eaton (Winchester, Mass.) got an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles.

Dobek, Wallace, and Arango all earned points in singles play in order to complete the win. Dobek defeated Eric Ringstad by scores of 6-1, 6-0 at first singles, while Arango-Campo and Wallace defeated their opponents by scores of 6-1, 6-1, and 6-1, 6-4, respectively.

The Penmen return to action Saturday, April 13 when they travel to Bentley for an 11:00 a.m. match.
