SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire men's tennis team defeated American Int'l College by a score of 6-3 in Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday afternoon.
Despite dropping two out of three doubles matches, the Penmen turned their play around in singles and took all but one match for the win.
Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) was the lone loss in singles play while falling to Cass Schwab by a score of 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1, while Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) defeated his opponent after a tiebreaker set by scores of 7-6, 2-6, and 6-4 in second singles.
In doubles play, Tim Hamilton (Bedford, N.H.) and Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) were the only point for SNHU as they defeated the Yellow Jackets No. 3 doubles pair by a score of 8-1. The No. 1 and No. 2 positions fell to AIC by scores of 8-5, and 8-4, respectively.
The Penmen return to action tomorrow when they travel to the University of Connecticut for a 3:00 p.m. non-conference match.
