MANCHESTER, N.H. – A goal midway through the first half proved to be the difference as Le Moyne College edged Southern New Hampshire University 1-0 in Northeast-10 women's soccer Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field. The Dolphins improve to 6-5-1 and 4-3-1 in the NE-10 with the victory, while the Penmen, who saw a modest two-game win streak snapped, are now 5-6-1 and 3-5 in the league.
In the 25th minute, after a Penmen foul at the top of the box, Kelly Ristoff lifted a free-kick that was stopped by Autumn Scanlon (Waltham, Mass.), but the rebound bounced out to Rachel Terry, who knocked it home for her fourth goal of the season.
Tori Corsaro made six saves en route to the shutout for Le Moyne, while Scanlon was credited with one save. The Penmen held a 12-7 shot advantage and took all eight of the game's corner kicks.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Saint Michael's College for a 3:00 Northeast-10 contest.
