Second Half Goals Push Pace Past Women's Soccer

Box Score

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. – A pair of second half goals by Alyssa Zeoli lifted Pace University to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer victory over Southern New Hampshire University at Pace Field Saturday afternoon.  The Setters improve to 7-7 and 5-5 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 5-8-1 overall and 3-7 in league play.

After a scoreless first half, Zeoli got Pace on the board 7:20 into the second half when she took a through ball at the top of the area from Geena Kooner and fired it home.  Zeoli added an insurance tally, her 12th goal of the season, with 1:31 left, when she headed home a one-touch pass off a free kick by Sarah Bendl.  Meghan Haslett also recorded an assist on the play.

Lauren DeSousa and Aisha Chauhan split the shutout for the Setters, with DeSousa making one save in the first half before Chauhan made a pair over the final 45 minutes.  Autumn Scanlon (Waltham, Mass.) recorded eight saves as Pace outshot Southern New Hampshire 18-9 and took nine of the game's 11 corner kicks.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Saint Anselm College for a 3:00 Northeast-10 contest.
