Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Kendra Bonczar's goal 2:23 into overtime lifted Saint Anselm College to a 1-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 women's soccer Tuesday afternoon at Saint Anselm's Melucci Field. The Hawks upped their record to 6-4-3 and 4-4-3 in the NE-10, while the Penmen now stand 5-9-1 and 3-8 in the league.
With the win, Saint Anselm claims its first two points in the Queen City Cup, a competition between SNHU and Saint Anselm in 16 different sports. The Penmen hold a 10-2 advantage thus far.
Bonczar took a long pass from the left wing from Jessica Kaufman and beat Penmen keeper Autumn Scanlon (Waltham, Mass.) for her third goal of the season as the Hawks snapped a two-game slide.
Cassie Quattropani registered four saves en route to the shutout for Saint Anselm, while Scanlon turned aside seven shots. The hosts held an 18-5 shot advantage on the afternoon and took five of the game's six corner kicks.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday night when it hosts American International College in a 7:00 Northeast-10 contest at Larkin Field.
