Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – Kelsey Imondi scored twice as Assumption College bested Southern New Hampshire University 2-0 in Northeast-10 women's soccer Saturday afternoon at Multi-Sport Stadium. The Greyhounds, who lead the NE-10 after being picked seventh in the preseason poll, won their seventh straight and are now 7-1 overall and 6-0 in the league, while the Penmen sit 3-5-1 (1-4 NE-10).
Imondi got Assumption on the board just over six minutes into the game when she lifted a high arcing shot from the top of the box that got over the head of Penmen keeper Autumn Scanlon (Waltham, Mass.). Imondi recorded her second goal of the game and third of the season in the 63rd minute when she headed home a corner kick by Paige Radomski.
Rachel Edgin made five saves en route to the shutout for the Greyhounds, while Scanlon turned aside three shots. The Penmen were also credited with a team save. Assumption held a 20-10 shot advantage on the afternoon and edged the guests in corner kicks 3-2.
Southern New Hampshire returns home Tuesday night when it entertains Bentley University in a 7:00 Northeast-10 contest at Larkin Field.
