Men's Tennis Falls to Boston College in Spring Opener

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team opened up the spring season with a 7-0 setback at Boston College on Saturday evening.  The Eagles upped their record to 2-2, while the Penmen suffered their first defeat of the season and are now 5-1 on the season.

In doubles action, the Penmen suffered close losses in the top two flights.  Phillip Nelso and Jonathan Raude defeated Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) 8-5 at No. 1, while Aiden McNulty and Matt Wagner topped Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) and Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) by an 8-6 score at No. 2.

In singles play, Dobek and Argano-Campo each fell by 6-3, 6-4 scores at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, to Nelson and Raude.

Southern New Hampshire faces its second straight Division I opponent when it hosts the College of the Holy Cross on Sunday, February 9.  That match is slated for a 6:00 start at the Allard Center in Goffstown, N.H.
