GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team posted a sweep of doubles action en route to an 8-1 win over Division I Holy Cross Sunday evening at the Allard Center. The Penmen upped their record to 6-1, while the Crusaders are now 1-3 on the season.
In doubles action, Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) were 8-2 winners at No. 1, while Evan Eaton (Winchester, Mass.) and Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) pulled out a 9-7 win at No. 2. Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia, Quindio) and Mark Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) also eked out a 9-7 triumph at No. 3.
The Penmen posted victories in five of six singles matches. Mukdaprakorn rallied for a 5-7, 6-1 (10-4) win over Jimmy Ye at No. 3, while Eaton posted a 5-7, 7-6 (10-7) victory at fourth singles over Pat O'Shea.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday, February 22, when it heads to No. 44 NYIT for a noon match.
