HANOVER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team downed Colby-Sawyer College 8-1 in a match played at the Boss Tennis Center Wednesday evening. The win, the sixth straight for Southern New Hampshire, improves the Penmen to 12-2, while the Chargers are now 5-6 overall.
SNHU jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles and prevailed in five of six singles matches. At No. 3 doubles, Evan Eaton (Winchester, Mass.) and Mark Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) pulled out a 9-8 (7-3) win over Ryan Sawyer and Matt Plouffe. Eaton also posted a hard-fought victory at No. 5 singles, rallying for a 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 win over Sawyer. At No. 1 singles, Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) fought off Nathan Taschereau for a 7-5, 6-2 win.
Southern New Hampshire returns to Northeast-10 play Saturday when it travels to Adelphi University for a 5:00 match.
