MANCHESTER, N.H. – Merrimack College completed a 7-2 Northeast-10 men's tennis victory over Southern New Hampshire University Monday afternoon at the SNHU courts. Merrimack, ranked No. 5 in the ITA East Region rankings, improves to 10-7 and 8-0 in the NE-10, while the Penmen, ranked No. 7, are now 15-4 and 7-2.
The match began on Friday, April 4, however, rain halted the match during singles play and the Warriors holding a 4-2 lead.
In Friday's doubles action, Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) and Alex Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) posted a 8-5 win at No. 2. Mitch Dobek (Westfield, Mass.) and Mike Wallace (Mount Vernon, N.Y.), the No. 7 doubles tandem in the region, fell 9-8 (7-5) to Chris Barnhart and Matt Pronesti, the No. 4 doubles team in the East.
Dobek picked up SNHU's other point, posting a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.
SNHU returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Division I Connecticut for a 3:30 match.
