Olivia Parsons (Plymouth, Mass.) scored with 4:02 left in the second overtime session to lift 23rd-ranked Southern New Hampshire to a 1-0 women's soccer win at Bentley Thursday afternoon.
The game-winning goal came following a corner kick. Alexa Poulin (Tewksbury, Mass.) sent a left-to-right corner kick into the box, while Parsons headed home inside the near post for her second goal of the season.
Autumn Scanlon (Waltham, Mass.) made four saves en route to her second shutout of the season, while Falcon counterpart Deirdre Macrorie stopped five shots.
Notes:
- Southern New Hampshire is off to its best start since 1994, when the Penmen also began the season 7-1.
- The current five-game win streak for women's soccer is its' longest since 2010 when it won six straight.
- The Penmen outshot the Falcons 21-6 and took six of the game's seven corner kicks.
- The win marked the fourth straight shutout for Southern New Hampshire.
- SNHU is 3-1 in overtime this season.
