A goal with 4:12 remaining by Gabby Cappello (Andover, Mass.) allowed No. 19 Southern New Hampshire to salvage a 1-1 women's soccer draw with Pace University Saturday afternoon.
Pace staked itself to a 1-0 lead with Delany Williams scored her fifth goal of the season just 4:58 into the contest. That would remain the score until just over four minutes left, as Cappello dribbled down the right side and fired a shot from 10 yards out past Setter keeper Aisha Chauhan for her third goal of the season.
Chauhan posted a pair of saves, while Penmen counterpart Paige Salmon (West Hempstead, N.Y.) recorded one save.
Notes:
- SNHU outshot Pace 10-5 on the afternoon, while both teams took four corner kicks.
- The Penmen are now 3-1-1 in overtime this season.
- Cappello took four of SNHU's 10 shots.
