GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – Freshman Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) was a double winner for Southern New Hampshire University, but the Penmen fell to the University of the District of Columbia 7-2 in non-conference men's tennis Saturday evening at the Allard Center. The Firebirds upped their record to 3-2, while the Penmen are now 2-3 on the season.
Aubron recorded a 6-4, 6-4 win over Simon Andersson at No. 1 singles, and teamed with Emerson Kelby (Oneonta, N.Y.) to top Andersson and Alexis Baguelin 8-4 in doubles action. Andersson and Baguelin entered the match as the No. 9-ranked doubles tandem in the East Region.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Merrimack College for a Northeast-10 match in a rematch of last season's conference final won by the Penmen 5-4.
