GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University was edged by Stonehill College 5-4 in Northeast-10 men's tennis Saturday night at the Allard Center. The Skyhawks upped their record to 8-4 and 3-1 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 3-5 and 3-2 in the league.
The Penmen jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles. Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) and Emerson Kelby (Oneonta, N.Y.) were 9-8 (7-3) winners at No. 1 doubles, rallying from a 7-4 deficit, while Sebastian Ramirez and Evan Eaton (Winchester, Mass.) were 8-3 winners at No. 2.
Stonehill captured the match after winning four of six singles matches. Aubron was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 1, while Ramirez prevailed 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3.
Southern New Hampshire is slated to return to action Monday when it hosts Assumption College in a 3:00 match.
