A goal in each half lifted Southern New Hampshire to a 2-0 women's soccer victory over Assumption Saturday afternoon as the Penmen posted their fourth straight victory.
At the 24:35 mark of the first half, freshman Danielle Humphreys (Hebron, Conn.) took a short pass from the right from Trisha Luis (Lowell, Mass.) and fired from just inside the top of the 18 and scored for her first collegiate goal.
The game remained 1-0 until the 75:35 mark when Alexa Poulin (Tewksbury, Mass.) made it 2-0. Dribbling down the middle, Poulin fired from 20 yards and lifted a high arcing shot that Greyhound keeper Rose Lipinski leaped and got a hand on, but the ball got by Lipinski for Poulin's second goal of the season.
Paige Salmon (West Hempstead, N.Y.) made six saves en route to her second shutout of the season. Emily Kuzma started and played the first 35:45 in goal for Assumption and made two saves before giving way to Lipinski, who stopped four shots. The Hounds also recorded a team save.
