The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory against Post University on Sunday at the SNHU Tennis Courts in the team's fall finale.
In doubles play, juniors Ricardo Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) and Miguel Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) posted an 8-5 win out of the No. 1 spot against Ivan Rajevac and Nikola Crvelin, junior Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) and freshman Bas Van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) doubled up Samuel Urban and Ludvig Henrikson, 8-4, at No. 2 and juniors Tiago Fernandes (Porto, Portugal) and Jeremy Reichentahl (Cheshire, Conn.) easily handled Ryan Moffat and Joe Alvord, 8-1, at No. 3 doubles.
The Penmen kept the momentum in singles play, with Ricardo Marreiros outlasting Rajevac, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, at No. 1.
Fernandes downed Crvelin, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 2 singles, while Miguel Marreiros toppled Henrikson, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3.
Aubron won a marathon at No. 4 over Peter Roessel, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3).
Van Biezen and Reichentahl both earned 8-4 pro set wins against Urban at No. 5 and Alvord at No. 6, respectively.
Notes:
-The Penmen begin the season 5-0 for the first time since 2013-14.
