Alyssa Zeoli scored a goal in each half as Pace University defeated the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Pace Stadium.
Zeoli opened the scoring just 28 seconds into the match as she received a pass from Victoria Kealy down the middle of the field and beat senior goalkeeper Paige Salmon (W. Hempstead, N.Y.) to make it 1-0 in favor of the Setters.
The game stayed that way into the second half as the Penmen generated opportunities in the box, but could not find the finish to even the match. With SNHU pushed up taking chances to gain the equalizer later in the second stanza, Pace would take advantage to bump the lead to 2-0 in the 81st minute. Zeoli collected a pass from Drew Ribadeneyra on the left and found the back of the net to give the Setters some cushion.

-Salmon made five saves, while Pace goalkeeper Hayley Pascoal turned away all four shots she faced.
-Southern New Hampshire outshot Pace, 12-10, while the Setters held a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. Corner kicks were even at five apiece.
-The Penmen are battling to find their way out of a rough patch they hit after beginning the season 5-2-0. The team is 1-4-0 over its last five, scoring four goals during the stretch.
