Senior Courtney Benson (Hopkinton, N.H.) scored twice and the 21st-ranked Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team kept rolling with its second straight 3-0 shutout victory over Pace University on Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field.

Southern New Hampshire needed just 4:43 to put its first goal on the board as senior Abigail Maker (Naples, Maine) sent a ball in from the left flank to the middle of the box, where Benson headed it off the hands of Pace goalkeeper Hayley Pascoal and into the back of the net.

Maker went playmaker again at the 8:01 mark, as this time, her service from the right flank was volleyed into the right side of the net by junior Miranda Peloquin (Greenville, R.I.), quickly putting the Penmen up, 2-0.

The match would stay that way through halftime and into the 57th minute when Benson struck again, cleaning up a loose ball that senior Trisha Luis (Lowell, Mass.) had hit off the post and beating new Pace 'keeper Aisha Chauhan to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Setters would pick up the Pace down the stretch and put together multiple chances, but the Penmen back line, as well as senior goalkeeper Paige Salmon (W. Hempstead, N.Y.), were up to the challenge.

Salmon made a season-high six saves. Pascoal tallied one save for Pace in the opening half, while Chauhan stopped two shots in the second stanza.
