The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was blanked by a tough Boston College squad, 7-0, Friday at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
Playing with Division I rules where all three doubles matches count as one decision, Southern New Hampshire did not almost steal a point, but did nearly swipe a win as graduate student Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) and sophomore Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) battled to a 7-6 (5-3) loss at No. 2 against Connor Mullins and Kent Mukai.
The Penmen also gave the Eagles a couple of scares in singles play, with senior Ricardo Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) and Aubron dropping 7-5, 7-5 decisions at No. 2 singles to Gereon Heitmann and No. 4 against Chris Grasel, respectively.
Notes:
-The Penmen are ranked No. 4 in the ITA Division II East Regional Rankings.
