Sophomore Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) rallied for the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team's lone singles win, but Florida Southern College recorded a 7-2 victory Wednesday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center, as the Penmen kicked off a three-match trip to the Sunshine State.
Southern New Hampshire trailed, 2-0, when seniors Ricardo Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) and Miguel Marreiros (Portimao, Portugal) fought for a 9-8 (7-5) win at No. 2 doubles against Derek Bell and Tim Becker.
The Mocs won five straight singles matches to seal the win before van Biezen battled back against Matt Matsuyama for a 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 win at No. 5.
Notes:
-The Penmen are ranked No. 4 in the ITA Division II East Regional Rankings, while the Mocs are 10th in the South.
